195 Fifth Avenue

The Slope’s second Zito’s Sandwich Shoppe will officially open for business at 1 PM this afternoon, in the space that was last occupied by Press 195, on Fifth between Union and Berkeley. In the two weeks since Press closed, Zito’s owners Marcello Bucca and Enzo Conigliano have transformed the space into one with a nearly identical aesthetic to the original Zito’s, on which opened a year ago Seventh between Seventh and Eighth Streets.

Not much else is different from the original either: the menu is the same, the beer selection is Sixpoint’s finest, and there’s even a spacious backyard. There are a few changes from the original, though: There’s a four seat bar up front, and as opposed to ordering at a counter wait staff will take your order and deliver your food to you, at one of the eight tables or at the small counters along the front windows and side of the room.

For loyal Zito’s devotees (of which there are many), the Fifth Avenue Zito’s will not disappoint you. It fits right in with the easygoing spirit of this stretch of the avenue, and further confirms that this particular restaurant row is a major force to be reckoned with.

You have to be a cheap jerseys serious sandwich elitist to say that these offerings are average. They very good, the bread especially is fantastic. I had great classic Italian sandwiches all over NYC and beyond and would categorize Zito in at least good territory. I hope this isn too much, too soon, but given the popularity of the 7th ave spot I think they do just fine.

Where in NJ or Philly am I going to for these “real” sandwiches. You might as well give me a couple examples if you going to make a claim like that.

We went for lunch on Sunday cheap nhl jerseys china having never tried the other Zito on 7th and found it lacking. Waited a long time with the menus before ordering, and then the waitress arrived to say that they didn have salads or beer yet. The chicken parm was fine (agree with Zippy, not enough sauce), and the 9 Italian was way over meated with only 6 peperoncini slices and balsamic on half the bread to cut the fat. Doesn compare to City wholesale jerseys china Sub, 5th Ave Market or Bierkraft in quality or variety, at least for now hoping that it improves as the staff settles in.

Dave, sorry, you wrong! I am a born and bred NY and Italian to boot! And, Zito sandwiches are good! At least the ones I have tried which include the eggplant parm, the pork braciola and the potato and egg.

I was not thrilled with the chicken parm, don think they do that well at all, I will give you that. But the others are yummy. Way to ruin our Sunday.” Jeez it this drama that makes you just love the Slope.

3) “Anyway wholey underwhelmed. It was just okay. Needed more sauce” Great so it was a bit dry, why not open your fucking pie hole and ask for it instead of blogging it you dick

4) “Classic move of overeager owners expanding too quickly. Gotta give them credit for opening up right next door to a place that makes sandwiches that are 4x better than their own. ” Classic comment from a cocksucker who dreams of opening a restaurant while blogging his keen biz overview go ahead and submit your biz plan to the SBA, they will cheap nfl jerseys laugh you out the door

5) “this is a great addition, but I really wish it were just counter service like the original Zitos.” We know you are cheap just like the rest of the Sloper so why not just write “great new place but I do not like to tip”Articles Connexes´╝Ü
